Common Interrogations Processed
Are the stories in your dossiers true?
Yes. Every scandal, budgetary overrun, and conflict detailed in our archives is based on verified historical documentation. We cross-reference municipal records, personal letters of the architects, and contemporaneous press reports. We do not invent drama; architecture naturally provides enough of it.
Why focus on the negative aspects of these beautiful buildings?
We do not view these histories as negative; we view them as human. Believing that a monument appeared effortlessly out of pure genius is a sanitized myth. True appreciation requires understanding the immense pressure, rivalries, and often brutal costs required to manifest these structures.
Did Shah Jahan really amputate the hands of the Taj Mahal workers?
As noted in Case File 02, there is zero documentary evidence to support this claim. It is a myth that likely originated centuries later to emphasize the Emperor's power and the building's unique status. However, the economic devastation caused by the project is entirely factual.
Was the Empire State Building's zeppelin mast ever used successfully?
No. While contact was made during a few terrifying test runs, passengers never disembarked, and the concept was deemed far too dangerous due to the updrafts in Manhattan. It was largely a PR stunt to win the height war against the Chrysler Building.
Can I submit a building for your archives to investigate?
Yes. If you have leads on suppressed architectural history, use the Archivist Inquiry terminal on our Contact page. Be prepared to cite your sources.
